3. Eligibility

The Contest is open to individuals who are at least 18 years old, have reached the age of majority where they live, and may lawfully enter and receive a prize. Entry is void where prohibited or restricted by law. Employees, officers, directors, contractors, representatives, and immediate family or household members of the Sponsor and anyone involved in developing or administering the Contest are not eligible.

Entrants are responsible for confirming that participation is lawful where they live. The Sponsor may exclude a jurisdiction when registration, bonding, translation, filing, prize, sanctions, tax, or other local requirements have not been satisfied.

4. How to enter by completing the hunt

During an open round, an entrant must:

  1. follow the official HuntAR accounts on TikTok (@huntar.ca), Instagram (@huntar_interactive), and X (@HuntAR_Inc);
  2. download HuntAR and complete all ten clues in The Hollow North;
  3. take a legible screenshot of the completion page; and
  4. submit the contest form with the requested Apple leaderboard player name, email address, country, social usernames, confirmations, and screenshot before the round closes.

A submission is received only when the Sponsor's system records it. A receipt message does not confirm eligibility, verification, draw placement, or winner status.

5. Enter the random draw by email

No additional purchase is required to enter the random draw. Instead of entering by completing the hunt, you may enter during an open round by emailing info@huntar.ca. Use the subject “Hollow North Contest: Random Draw Entry” and include the round number. Include your full name, email address, country of residence, TikTok, Instagram, and X usernames, confirmation that you meet the age and eligibility requirements and follow the three official accounts, and an original response of 100 to 150 words to: Which clue-solving skill matters most in an augmented-reality treasure hunt, and why?

One complete, original email received before the round closes counts as one entry into that round's random draw and has the same chance of selection as a completed-hunt draw entry. An email entry does not qualify for the leaderboard prize because that prize is determined by verified in-game performance. Email and internet access may involve ordinary service-provider charges.

6. Entry limits and the first 100 entries

Limit one entry per person per round, regardless of entry method. The first 100 submissions that are complete, eligible, timely, and successfully verified will form that round's random-draw pool. Submission order is determined by the Sponsor's recorded form time or email-received time. If an earlier submission is invalidated, the next verified eligible submission may take its place.

Entries made through multiple identities, email addresses, social accounts, automated systems, scripts, bots, macros, or other attempts to exceed the limit are void. Creating or using multiple social accounts to enter may result in disqualification.

7. Prizes

All $50 prize amounts stated in these Terms and Conditions are in Canadian dollars (CAD).

Each round offers two prizes:

Each prize will be delivered through a digital gift card or electronic payment method selected by the Sponsor that is lawful and reasonably available in the winner's country. If the selected method is unavailable, the Sponsor may provide another lawful prize of equal value. Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be substituted by a winner. Winners are responsible for taxes, fees, reporting, and costs not expressly included.

8. Winner determination and odds

Leaderboard Prize. After a round closes, the Sponsor will verify eligible entrants' recorded results. The highest verified score wins. If two or more entrants have the same score, ties will be resolved in this order: shortest verified completion time, fewest hints used, highest verified accuracy, then a random selection among any entrants still tied.

Random-Draw Prize. Within five business days after a round closes, the Sponsor will conduct a random draw from the verified draw pool using a documented random process. The odds depend on the number of verified eligible entries in the pool and will be no worse than 1 in 100.

A person may win only one prize in the same round. If the leaderboard winner is also selected in the random draw, the Sponsor will draw another random winner.

9. Potential-winner verification

A potential winner will be contacted using the submitted email address and must respond within five calendar days. Before being confirmed, the potential winner may be required to provide proof of age, identity, residence, account ownership, entry compliance, and hunt completion; sign an eligibility, liability, publicity, and prize-acceptance declaration where lawful; and correctly answer, without assistance, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question where required by Canadian law or Sponsor policy.

If a potential winner cannot be contacted, does not respond on time, fails verification, declines the prize, gives an incorrect skill-testing answer when required, or otherwise violates these terms, the prize is forfeited. The Sponsor may select the next-ranked eligible entrant for the leaderboard prize or draw an alternate for the random prize.

10. Fair play and disqualification

Entries must be genuine and created by the entrant. The Sponsor may disqualify any person or entry involving false information, an altered or reused screenshot, impersonation, duplicate entries, multiple social accounts, automation, manipulation of the app or leaderboard, interference with the Contest, harassment, unlawful conduct, or a violation of these terms or an applicable platform's rules. The Sponsor may request original files or other reasonable evidence and may resolve verification questions in good faith, subject to applicable law.

11. Privacy

The Sponsor collects and uses entry information to administer the Contest, verify eligibility and results, prevent fraud, contact potential winners, award prizes, comply with law, and resolve disputes. Entry information is not an opt-in to marketing email. Details about the information collected, service providers, storage, retention, and entrant choices appear in the HuntAR Privacy Policy. Information may be processed outside an entrant's province, state, or country.

12. Publicity

Where lawful, a confirmed winner agrees that the Sponsor may announce the winner's Apple leaderboard player name, country, winning result, and prize. Any additional use of a winner's legal name, image, voice, social content, or likeness for promotional purposes will require the permission or release required by applicable law. Nothing in this section removes rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

13. Apple and social platforms

The Contest is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Apple, TikTok, Instagram, X, Meta, or any gift-card issuer. Each entrant completely releases those parties from claims arising from the Contest to the extent permitted by law. Entrants must comply with each platform's applicable terms and policies. The information submitted for this Contest is provided to the Sponsor, not to those platforms.

14. Changes, suspension, and cancellation

If fraud, technical failure, security issues, platform changes, natural disaster, legal restrictions, or another event beyond the Sponsor's reasonable control affects the integrity or lawful operation of the Contest, the Sponsor may suspend, modify, extend, or cancel it, subject to applicable law and any required regulatory approval. If possible, the Sponsor will preserve valid entries already received and publish material changes on the Contest page. The Sponsor will not change the odds or selection criteria unfairly after entries have been received.

15. Release and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, entrants release the Sponsor and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and representatives from claims arising from participation, entry loss or corruption, use of the app, acceptance or use of a prize, or unauthorized third-party conduct. The Sponsor is not responsible for unavailable networks, devices, app stores, email systems, social platforms, corrupted uploads, inaccurate entrant information, or entries that are late, lost, misdirected, incomplete, or not received. These limitations do not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded, including applicable consumer rights.

16. Governing law and disputes

Subject to mandatory rights and laws in an entrant's place of residence, the Contest and these terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Before starting formal proceedings, an entrant and the Sponsor will try in good faith for 30 days to resolve a dispute by written notice. Subject to those mandatory rights and laws, the courts located in Ontario have non-exclusive jurisdiction over disputes relating to the Contest.

17. General

The Sponsor's decisions are final on Contest administration matters, subject to applicable law. If any provision is unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver. If Contest advertising conflicts with these terms, these terms control. Headings are for convenience only. The English version governs to the extent permitted by applicable law.

18. Contact and winner information

Questions, accessibility requests, privacy requests, and requests for confirmed-winner information may be sent to info@huntar.ca. The Sponsor may limit winner information to what applicable law requires and what the winner has lawfully agreed may be published.
